TRANSACTION ADVISORY SERVICES - DEAL ANALYTICS CONSULTING ASSOCIATE

Position Description

At RSM, associates work with large and small companies in various industries. They develop strong working relationships with clients built on understanding their businesses and challenges.

Associates work on multiple team engagements each year, including several pieces of any particular assignment - not just one part.

The Transaction Advisory Services practice offers our clients assistance with M&A activities on the buy-side and sell-side.

As an Associate on our Deal Analytics team, you will work closely with other team members to help companies with the M&A process by delivering analytical insights using advanced data tools and techniques.

You will utilize various data technology including data visualization, extraction, transformation, benchmarking and data modeling to identify key merger and acquisition pre-deal risks and issues to help clients recognize their deal value and drive their post-deal strategy forward.

Examples of the candidate's responsibilities include :

  • Perform (as part of a team) data analytics for clients who are acquiring or divesting businesses (US and international).
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis to help clients evaluate their acquisition and divestiture decisions and financing requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings and site visits while interacting with top-level management to obtain pertinent information for financial analysis.
  • Interact with the other functional areas of the practice including tax, audit and other consulting practices.
  • Represent the firm in community activities and professional associations.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum B.A. / B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university by the time employment commences.
  • Major and / or minor in Accounting, Finance and / or Data Analytics.
  • Travel is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations.
  • Ability to travel 10%-20% locally and nationally.
  • A minimum 3.5 GPA is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team.
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office (primarily Excel and PowerPoint) and at least one advanced data tool such as Alteryx, Python, PowerBI, SQL.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Client focused.

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role.

The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc.

As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range : $72,160 - $86,100. Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
