General Purpose : As a service technician, you will use your skills (diesel, automotive, welding, or other mechanical) to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use
• Report machine condition to Management
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including checking oil, grease, fluids and tagging of equipment for rental ready status
• Demonstrate equipment for customers
• Assist pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed
• Cleaning of equipment
• Uphold company values, safety standard, and ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed

Supervisory Responsibilities : This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Education and / or Experience : This position requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training;

or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills : This position requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills : This position requires the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability : This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications : This position does not require any certifications.

License : This position requires a valid driver’s license. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred but not required.

You must be willing to become CDL certified.

Physical Demands : This position frequently requires talking and hearing, sitting, standing and walking as well as the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reaching with hands and arms.

This position sometimes requires climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

This position rarely requires lifting up to 100 pounds. This position sometimes requires lifting up to 50 pounds.

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are important components of this job.

Work Environment : This position rarely requires exposure to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions.

This position sometimes requires risk of electrical shock. This position frequently requires working near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level is considered loud (manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment).

Additional Information : This position may require some night / weekend work.
