Software/Systems Engineer - Security Clearance Required

Responsibilities may include :

• Define ground subsystem structures, behavior, interfaces, and data flows
• Contribute to design and model development by creating or refining SysML elements and diagrams
• Contribute to development of CDRL documents
• Conduct or participate in design trade studies
• Develop plans for DevSecOps pipelines and test approach
• Participate in interface working groups to define and mature external interfaces
• Investigate options and drive decisions related to system and software architecture (e.g., subsystem behavior, interactions between subsystems or externals, cloud architecture, formats and protocols, microservice architecture, compute / resource sizing, CI / CD and automation approaches, integration of COTS / FOSS products, etc.)
• Present at internal meetings and demos

This is an EARLY-MID CAREER (level 3) ROLE where candidates require 5+ years of professional experience and a BS degree or above.

Selected candidate must have a Top Secret security clearance prior to start.

Basic Qualifications :

• Meaningful Software Development, Software Engineering, and / or Systems Engineering background, with a track record of successful project delivery
• Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration and teamwork across Agile Development Teams.
• Current TS Clearance prior to start and the ability to obtain SCI

Desired Skills :

• Experience developing software solutions that support Military Communications Satellite systems.
• Meaningful experience designing and implementing software solutions using the following technologies : Microservices, C#, Java, Cloud computing
• Proficient in using Git for version control and collaboration
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps Pipelines
• Excellent understanding of Agile Methodologies as they relate to the Scaled Agile Framework
• Experience with Agile, automated test, continuous integration, and regression testing
• Committed with excellent problem-solving skills applied to software engineering solutions
• Previous experience delivering highly reliable Communications / Ground subsystems

Ability to Work Remotely : Part-time Remote Telework : The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position : 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate :

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $85,900 - $164,600.

For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.

Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
