INTERNAL AGENCY OPPORTUNITY
This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The incumbent of this position is responsible for the operational management and supervision of the TB, Refugee Health Services, and Hepatitis Clinic.
Works independently under the supervision of the Executive Community Health Nursing Director (ECHND). Responsible for the supervision of staff Including appraisals, planning, and directing their work, approving leave, having the authority for hiring, and taking disciplinary action or effectively recommending such actions.
This position spends the majority of the time engaged in supervisory responsibilities. This includes communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees in addition to planning and directing employees' work.
The incumbent has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.
The incumbent will also be required to develop performance expectations, meet with staff regularly to discuss performance, complete performance reviews, maintain vacation and work schedules, ensuring proper coverage, and complete timesheets.
Conducts quality assurance for scanned documents. Responsible for scheduling and assigning subordinate personnel. Assures adequate clerical coverage for assigned work areas and communicates clerical shortages to the ECHND.
In times of staff shortage or lunch breaks, will work in the clinic to ensure efficient patient care. Cross training to subordinates to maximize resources and ensure knowledgeable workforce.
Completes required documents and timely completion of staff EARS and Timesheets. Analyzes, recommends, and implements resolutions to administrative and department’s work through Q-Flow.
Resolutions may be implemented through development of operating procedures. Establishes and recommends changes in office procedures for the TB and Refugee Health Services.
Monitors the Electronic Notification Disease of new Refugee clients and ensures scheduling is within 90 days. Arranges and conducts regular staff meetings and training activities to ensure compliance with existing and new policies and procedures to resolve barriers to their implementation.
Attends training and professional development sessions as required. Maintains continuing inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering supplies as needed.
Serves as Information Custodian for Refugee Health.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Are you willing to work before, during and / or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency
- Current employee of Florida Department of Health employees, (includes OPS, Career Service, SES or SMS employees).
- Experience working as a supervisor with direct reports.
- Experience working in Refugee Health.
- Proficient in Excel Spreadsheets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 or more years experience working as Supervisor with direct reports.
- 1 or more years’ working in Refugee Health.
- Experience monitoring performance metrics.
- Experience working with HMS computer software.
- 2 or more years experience managing Point of Distribution Operations (POD).
- Bilingual, Fluent in Spanish and English or Creole and English.
