Certified Coder
Community Medical and Dental Care, located in Rockland County, NY, is seeking a full-time, experienced Certified Coder. The Coder will work directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get claims processed and paid.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Check encounters versus appointments scheduled and review encounters versus progress notesBill encountersAll unbillable encounters should be coordinated through the Billing Manager to obtain missing informationRebill denials with a focus on collectionsPerform A / R collection functionVerify insurance coverage and makes any necessary corrections in AllscriptsIdentify missing encounter forms as well as missing information which includes missing ICD9 and CPT codesRun daily reconciliation report of unbilled encountersCheck the laboratory for the proper billing of encounters.
Answer any billing questions from patients, registrars, or receptionists.Other special projects regarding billing, posting & collections (Ex.
Medicare, Medicaid, recoupments, any past posted corrections, etc.)REQUIREMENTS : Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codesMust be accurate, self-motivated and goal-orientedMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressureExcellent problem-solving skillsMust have an excellent worth ethicMust maintain confidentiality regarding patient account status and the financial affairs of the office3-5 years of coding experienceSALARY / BENEFITS : Competitive compensationBenefits packagePaid vacation / holidaysOpportunities for growthPlease note that this is not a remote position.
