Summary :
Supervises and coordinates activities of nursing personnelin patient care unit. Verifies that patients' needs are met andevaluates unit nursing care and performance.
Participates inplanning work of assigned units and coordinates activities withother patient care units and related departments.
Plans andorganizes training for unit staff members and participates inguidance and educational programs.
Responsiblefor coordination and direction of prompt, efficient patient flow through the patient care delivery services of the hospital byproviding a communication link with the admitting department andthe nursing units.
Serves as a clinical (expert) resource person indelivery and supervision of direct and indirect care processes.Provide competent leadership and direction for all hospital codesand / or crisis management.
Serves as an agent for department andhospital executives when they are not present and reports concernsor events to the designated administrative person oncall.

Requirements :
A. Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited school ofnursing.
B. Experience
Minimum of 2 years ofnursing experience and supervisor experience in and an acute carehospital.
C. Licenses,Registrations, or Certifications
- Current Texas State RN license
- CPR (American Heart Association)
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire / transferdate
- NIHSS required within 90 days ofhire / transfer date
- De-escalation trainingrequired within 90 days of hire / transferdate
- Additional certifications must becompleted by the specified time frame for facilities listedbelow :
- Alice / Beeville / Kleberg- NRP within 90days of hire / transfer date
