How will you make an impact in this role?

The internship will be a general Finance internship that will provide opportunities to intern in one of the following functional areas of Finance : Corporate Planning & Analysis, Global Commercial Services Finance, US Consumer & International Card Services, Global Merchant and Network Finance, Controllership, Global Treasury, and Investor Relations.

This internship position will be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We encourage you to apply if you are interested in full-time employment with American Express upon graduation (if you apply for an open role and an offer is extended at the conclusion of the internship).

How will you make an impact in this role?

• Complete a project solving a real business challenge for the organization
• Participate in other initiatives and projects as assigned
• Assist with monthly general ledger close activities including completing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist in producing and reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Perform variance analysis and analytical procedures for assigned general ledger accounts
• Establish relationships and partner with subject matter experts to key to AENB Controllership accounting activity

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program
• Students must have a graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026.

• Analytical Skills - ability to manipulate large amounts of data, spot trends & generate significant insights
• Communication Skills - synthesize data into an easy-to-understand story & articulate key messages across multiple audiences.
• Agile Mentality - positive, can-do attitude, adapt to change, and highly motivated self-starter
• Leadership - act & lead with courage, establish relationships, make decisions quickly & influence change

Qualifications

Salary Range : $24.05 to $63.00 hourly + sign-on bonus
