PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION :

The central goal for the Estimator will be to prepare accurate estimates for fabricated metal components and assemblies by gathering information, analyzing important metrics, and conducting regular risk assessments.

The ideal candidate will be fluent in manufacturing, with in-depth knowledge of bills and routings for metal products and estimating ERP systems.

In addition to being an excellent communicator, candidates should also be detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTAIBLITY :

• Understand the part / project and its requirements.
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Conduct research to obtain data on materials and processes.
• Gather and review offers and quotes from subcontractors.
• Perform risk analysis.
• Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, sales team, etc.)
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

QUALITIFCATIONS FOR ENTRY :

• Bachelor's or Associates degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred or relevant field.
• A minimum of 3 years as an Estimator or similar role.
• Basic mathematics skills and knowledge.
• Understanding of how to read and interpret blueprints and statement of work documents.
• ERP Systems experience.
• Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand Dimensioning and Geometric Tolerancing.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand Welding Symbols.
• Knowledge of and ability to understand AWS and ASME Welding Codes.
• Proficient in estimating sheet metal components and weldments.
• Strong Candidates will have Estimating skills in Machining and Machined Weldments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Anderson Dahlen fosters a manufacturing type environment. This position will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
