Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, develop, and test industry-leading radar and communications technology.

The role is a hands-on lead role spanning the technology development lifecycle, including requirements generation, software design and implementation, integration, validation, and field test.

The successful candidate must have experience with C / C++, Python, Linux OS, and agile processes. It is desirable that the candidate have experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system.

Wireless network protocols, real-time operating systems, and wireless communications experience is desirable.

The role will be part of a growing, innovative product development team. We are looking for engineers to be immediately integrated into design teams to solve difficult technical problems.

Candidate will report to the Director of Federal Systems.

Tasks :

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• User interface and control, embedded software, signal and data processing and analysis for communication systems and radar systems.
• Mesh network design, implementation, testing, and optimization.
• Debug existing software and correct defects. Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
• Create test solutions, especially for over-the-air testing and system functional testing.
• Participate in software design V&V, including laboratory and field integration testing.
• Create modeling and simulation tools for hardware products and systems.
• Participate in radar and communications module design and verification.
• Contribute to research and development that fuels innovation and technological advancements.
• Serve as team lead for software development, integration, and test projects.
• Define tasks and coordinate sprints for a small team of software engineers.

Skills :

• Experience with multiple programming languages (C / C++, Python, embedded Linux, etc.).
• Experience with CMake and Make build orchestration systems.
• Experience in software-defined radar and / or radio systems is a plus.
• Experience with Linux network stack.
• Experience with network simulation tools, like ns-3.
• Experience with Android or Qt for User Interface development is a plus.
• Experience with Team Awareness Kit (TAK).
• Experience devising test solutions and automating tests.
• Demonstrated success in resolution of technical challenges leveraging strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Military and Government programs.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Jira and other Atlassian tools.
• Experience with Agile development techniques.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience.
• Proficient in C++.
• Experience with IEEE 802 wireless network protocols.
• Willing to travel, up to 20%.
• Ability to obtain government security clearance.
