JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- The Patient Flow Administrative Coordinator (PFAC) provides administrative continuity and operations coordination (not exclusive to nursing), throughout The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC).
- This role is in support of the unit based, program based and senior leadership of QMC. In the absence of the Senior Vice President (SVP) or Vice President (VP) of any affected area, the PFAC has the authority and responsibility for administrative decisions and appropriate escalation to the Administrator on-call.
- Plays a pivotal role to decrease barriers, improve patient access and enhance quality of care using clinical expertise, leadership, organizational awareness, and critical thinking skills.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
- Essential : seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity.
- Frequent : standing, walking.
- Occasional : sitting.
- Infrequent : stooping / bending, reaching above at, and below shoulder, pushing / pulling up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 50 pounds.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
- May be subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Area of assignment encompasses total institution.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
- Current Hawaii State license as Registered Nurse.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Master’s degree in preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification. If not certified upon hire, must obtain within six (6) months of entrance into the position.
As of June 23, 2024, existing Patient Flow Administrative Coordinators must obtain certification by December 23, 2024 as a condition of employment.
B. EXPERIENCE :
- Minimum three (3) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.
- One (1) year leadership experience in a hospital setting or related medical field.
