The successful candidate for the Middle Office Operations Specialist role will be a mature self-starter
who has demonstrated the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding
environment. This person needs to be able to resolve conflict within a short period of time. This person
will be intellectually curious, intuitive, trustworthy, and have the highest ethical standards. In addition,
he / she will be effective addressing a number of internal and external audiences in a professional
manner. This person will add value by working on a number of simultaneous tasks with minimal
supervision and exemplary follow-through. Complete ownership of tasks and responsibilities will be
integral to individuals' success and role fulfillment.
Duties and responsibilities
Daily trade support with the intentions of process improvement for operational control
within fixed income & global rates macro businesses
- Ensure accurate trade capture, position management & inventory continuity day over
- Front to back reconciliation of life cycle events for futures, listed options, bonds, repos
interest rate derivatives
- Understand the settlement process for OTC products
- Project management between trading and internal teams
- Liaison between trading and counterparties to resolve pricing / risk / allocation
inaccuracies
- Responsible for reconciliation of Risk and P&L
- Monitor trade flow from electronic trading platforms : Bloomberg, TradeWeb, etc... and
affirmation platforms Markitwire
Act as process owner for current functionality and provide critical support regarding
enhancements to technology, workflows, and processes
Strong understanding of traders' individual risk management tools and support
of related traders' needs
Upgrading and support of traders' tools to take advantage of technologies and
tools that are firm standard
Interfacing with technology in solicitation of improvement to the firm's tools
and technology where they fall short of meeting the desk's needs
Adoption, integration, and promotion of new technology as it becomes available
Qualifications :
Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent). Preference for finance,
economics, applied mathematics, physics, engineering, or computer science, or related
quantitative field.
Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in fixed income securities or derivatives middle office,
operations or financial control support
Knowledge of and familiar with financial markets, fixed income products & derivatives
US Government, Agencies, Exchange Traded Futures / Options, Swaps, Swaptions)
Basic knowledge / understanding of 1st order interest rate risk (Duration, Curve) and
familiarity with yield curves
Experience with MarkitWire / streetwide affirmation platforms and Dealer / Prime Broker
portals
- SQL / Python / Power Query experience preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL database integration
- Excellent English, grammar, written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to independently to analyze
problems, synthesize and implement solutions
