Responsibilities*

Transportation staff will arrive at the unit with the transport vehicle (i.e. stretcher or wheelchair) specified at the time of request, stop at the Nursing station to retrieve chart and / or card, report to patient room, greet the patient by name, identify the patient by armband, introduce themselves to the parents, patient and nursing staff as appropriate.

Assist the patient and / or nursing with the physical transfer of the patient onto the vehicle and transport patient to the appointment.

Bodies of deceased patients will be transported to the Morgue by transport personnel.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities including : pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
  • Must be able to read and write English.

Work Schedule

This position may require working day shift, afternoon shift, midnight shift, weekends, and holidays.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile / remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment.
