Overview
A kind family currently located in the Dolores Heights neighborhood of San Francisco is looking for a full-time child-focused nanny for their newborn and 6-year-old.
They are looking to fill 40-50 hours per week with the general schedule being Monday through Friday 8 : 30am-530pm or 8am-6pm, with the occasional date night if the nanny is open to it.
This family utilizes the Reggio philosophy in their home and value play-based and respectful parenting and looks for a nanny who follows the same philosophy.
The family is open to someone starting between September and December but will need to be 100% full-time by January. There will be a post partum doula 3 nights a week for the first month after baby's arrival
Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing and secure environment for the children
- Full childcare of the infant and occasional care of the older child
- Prioritize the children's care and well-being at all times. This is a child centered position and any household help will be when time permits
- Help with the AM and PM routine / school drop-off / pick-up when needed and transporting the children to activities and play-dates etc.
- Cooking for the baby when solids begin and being open to simple meal prep or making lunches for the older child when time permits
- Children's laundry
Qualifications
- A nanny who follows baby’s cues, sets healthy boundaries and encourages the baby to learn from the world and be curious and adventurous
- Safety conscious and has good judgment (encourage the children to explore but let parents know if there are any injuries or accidents)
- These parents are looking for a teammate who will bring ideas to the table and have conversations about upcoming milestones and developmental stages
- Proactive and reliable
- Tech savvy and good communicator
- Comfortable with a work-from-home parents (both parents have hybrid schedules split between home and office) but also able to be sole charge of the children and require little guidance on the day-to-day routine
- A nanny ready and willing to travel with the family. There will be longer trips to a second home in Tahoe and out of state travel starting in November.
- Have a clean and current driving license would be ideal but not essential as the home is accessible via BART
Requirements
- Knowledge of respectful care-giving such as RIE, Montessori, or Reggio
- Fluent English speaker and excellent at communicating
- OK commuting to the Dolores Heights neighborhood for the next year and then the Glen Park area after the family moves;
a parking spot will be available if the nanny prefers to drive to work

Salary and Benefits
Highly comeptitive hourly pay consisting of an hourly rate up to 40 hours and all applicable overtime thereafter
