Senior Manager, Carbon Accounting
The Senior Carbon Accounting Manager will lead the carbon operations team and own the detailed process and practices that define how Truterra creates, assures, maintains, and transacts various classes of carbon credits.
Currently, Carbon Operations is a remote team of 4 high-performing individuals, coordinating all facets of carbon asset generation including grower onboarding, eligibility screening, data collection, and technology requirements development.
This role is responsible for helping Truterra create the most credible, rigorous, transparent carbon credit assets in the market.
You work alongside the Truterra Carbon Standards Manager to assure appropriate implementation of carbon methodologies, including consistent use of protocols across a variety of cross-functional teams at Truterra (e.
g., agronomists, data scientists, soil scientists, satellite / geospatial analysts, product managers, etc.), and securing buy-in and approval from critical external stakeholders (e.g., carbon registries).
Exceptional people leadership and team engagement is central to success of this dynamic role. In addition to technical aptitude and experience in agricultural carbon markets, the candidate must have the ability to manage a wide array of internal and external stakeholder interests.
Candidate must be able to rigorously manage a complex process using agile methods and maintain the perspective of broader, rapidly evolving strategy and programs.
Required Experience & Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related field
- 10+ years' work experience
- Proven ability to lead, manage, build and empower a high-performing, technical team
- Experience managing complex and fast-paced projects with a high degree of ambiguity
- Experience in the carbon quantification and methodology space
- Advanced degree in STEM preferred
- Experience in agile methodologies preferred

- In-depth understanding of the carbon accounting, quantification, and methodology standards and broader landscape

- Ability to work and lead collaboratively with teams across an organization
- Ability to translate complex or ambiguous concepts into digestible information (e.g., protocols) for a diverse set of stakeholders
- Extremely organized and obsessive about quality
- Passion for data, natural resource conservation science, and modeling techniques
- Is a pioneer, thriving in a fast-paced, extremely ambiguous environment
Salary is negotiable based on experience : $135,360 - $203,400
