Operations Manager ManufacturingOperations Manager will oversee manufacturing operations and the production management for an established supplier to aerospace, electronics and medical industry leaders.
This role monitors production metrics and responds to and resolves problems, and recommends process improvements, new technologies, and methods to maximize operational efficiency and collaborates with leaders to manage and resolve workforce or labor issues and develop long-term solutions.
They also implement long-term plans for facilities, equipment, materials, technology, and workforce resources to maintain manufacturing capacity and processes that support business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Which includes, but is not limited to the following :
- Supports a zero-injury culture by pro-actively complying with all safety practices and conducts self- inspections and safety huddles on a regular basis.
- Reviews production reports and directs the resolution of manufacturing problems to ensure Customer Satisfaction with a focus on quality and on-time-delivery.
- Uses a hands-on approach to managing daily production operations to ensure the manufacture of parts, products, components or assemblies, within established quality, timeline, and cost standards.
- Establishes production and quality control standards, develops cost controls and provides data regarding quantities, and delivery dates of services ordered.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a manufacturing process plan for product realization, including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
- Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of resources, machines, and equipment.
- Determines responsibilities and provides direction to direct reports to accomplish business objectives.
- Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Appraises performance and provides leadership guidance to direct reports to continually improve team effectiveness.
- Implements lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies to accomplish goals across all departments as assigned.
- Must be able to multi-task with the ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful or challenging situations.
- Maintains a quality system that meets the requirements of customers and auditors.
- Participates in customers’ sales calls on / off premises as required.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesManages the manufacturing and production engineering teams through subordinate managers and professionals, while maintaining strong presences on the production floor.
Is responsible for the overall strategic direction, coordination, and evaluation of these departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Proven management experience in a high demand manufacturing environment in industries such as aerospace, electronics, medical, etc.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and influence others both inside and outside the organization
- Ability to set measurable and realistic goals and convert plans into action
- Ability to quickly process information and learn new skills, processes, procedures, etc.
- Strong commitment to quality
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to set organizational performance standards and goals
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma culture
- ISO 9001-2015 a must
- AS9100D and ISO 13485 would be helpfulComputer Skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have a familiarity with a production systemEducation and / or ExperienceBachelor’s degree (B.
