About The Position
Job Title : Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist Job Specialty : Cardiac Cath Lab Job Duration : 14 weeks Shift : Day 4x10 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40 hrs / week Experience : Preferred two (2) years of experience in Cardiology / Cath Lab License : Registered ARRT is required OR must obtain Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (RCIS) within 18 months of hire OR Registered Respiratory Therapist with cardiovascular-specific certification Certifications : - Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association - Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association - Fluoroscopy Certification - Radiation badges to be supplied by the vendor Must-Have : - Technical support skills in cardiac catheterization lab - Knowledge of maintaining sterile conditions during procedures - Patient care experience under RN supervision Job Description : - Provide technical support in the cardiac catheterization laboratory during invasive cardiovascular procedures.
- Assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures. - Act as a scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures.
- Operate imaging equipment and monitor / document procedure images and events in the control room. - Educate patients and families regarding the procedure and expectations.
- Teach patients and family about pre and post-procedure physical conditions. - Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures. - Complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation according to departmental standards.
- Accurately document productivity information. - Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives. - Identify potential areas for improvement, including streamlining processes to improve patient satisfaction.
- Identify potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients or staff and take appropriate action. - Perform other duties as assigned.
