Senior Project Manager IT
Location : Torrance, CA (Hybrid of approximately 60% onsite along with some remote work)
Note There may be more time that this PM is required to be in the office (to work with different teams.
Working Hours 8 : 00 am 5 : 00 pm Pacific Time zone is required (there may also be meetings that are earlier or later to support the different team's time zones)
Duration June 2024 March 31, 2025 with possibility of an extension
This Project Manager will be supporting a very large project to modernize a legacy application in the VSC (Vehicle Service Contract) business area.
Responsibilities will include the following :
Develop Project Plans : Create detailed project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs.
Host Regular Project Meetings : Conduct weekly meetings with the project team and managers to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide updates.
Manage Deadlines : Ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met by coordinating efforts across departments.
Coordinate with Vendors and Suppliers : Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers as needed for project execution.
Risk Identification : Continuously assess project risks, including technical, operational, and organizational aspects.
Mitigation Strategies : Develop risk mitigation plans and proactively address potential issues.
Quality Control : Implement quality assurance processes to ensure deliverables meet established standards.
Testing and Validation : Oversee testing phases, including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing.
Status Updates : Regularly communicate project progress to stakeholders, adjusting communication style based on the audience (executives, technical teams, etc.).
Issue Resolution : Address any project-related issues promptly, seeking consensus and maintaining transparency.
Change Implementation : Facilitate the transition from legacy systems to modernized solutions.
User Adoption : Promote user acceptance and adoption of new technologies.

Project Completion : Successfully deliver the project within the specified budget, timeline, and quality standards.
Stakeholder Satisfaction : Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders, keeping them informed about project status and addressing any concerns promptly.
Risk Management : Identify and mitigate risks that could impact project success.
Team Leadership : Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, ensuring team members are motivated and aligned with project goals.
Modernization Achievement : Measure the successful modernization of the 30-year-old technology in the Vehicle Service Contract business area
Required Skills and Expertise :
Must be a seasoned senior project manager who is hands-on delivering the projects from initiation to implementation.
Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, quality, cost, and risks in details.
Skilled in maintaining communication with all stakeholders, keeping them informed about the project and addressing any concerns promptly via verbal communication, formal meetings, and via PowerPoint and presentations.
Expertise in identifying and mitigating risks that could impact project success.
Experience working in a weak matrix environment and influence with no authority.
Ability to take their experiences and mentor, coach as well as lead less experienced members on the team.
Experience being able to quickly adapt to client's environment and culture.
Expertise in creating and using PowerPoint and presentations.
Understanding on how the IT procurement process works and be able to manage vendors contracts (e.g. SOW, amendments, order, change order, etc.)
