Floral Category Manager
Description
We are searching for a highly skilled category manager to lead and grow the floral category for El Rio Grande Latin Market.
In this role, you will be required to market the floral category effectively, discuss strategies with leadership, research competitive market, create internal reports, perform regular retail checks, and drive sales through various merchandising strategies.
To ensure success as a category manager, you should be able to pinpoint customer / shopper trends and apply established category management principles to achieve sales growth.
The ideal category manager will be persuasive, sales-driven, goal-oriented, and excellent at selling their ideas to both customers and team members.
Job Responsibilities :
- Ensure floral category is optimized for maximum sales.
- Researching and analyzing trends in sales and consumer behavior.
- Drafting reports for the organization to enhance sales.
- Conduct regular category reviews with suppliers including SKU rationalization.
- Producing, adapting, and advising on display and current marketing materials as needed.
- Planning and implementing merchandising strategies for in-store displays
- Optimizing in-store displays with prompted signage, category markers, and category usage tips.
- Adjusting strategies and display techniques to improve sales while attracting new customers to the floral category.
- Oversee in-store ordering process to ensure quality standards are being achieved.
- Lead and develop team of store based Floral Coordinators.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, supply chain management or equivalent industry experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
3+ years’ experience in retail floral environment.
An excellent grasp of spatial, design, and promotional planning.
Up to date with the latest category management principles.
Proficient at evaluating current business retail practices.
Ability to write well and generate reports on market activity.
Possess great negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think from a floral customer perspective and understand their purchasing behavior.
Analytical, creative, and goal-driven thinking.
Ability to travel throughout DFW Metroplex and occasional travel to industry trade shows.
Bi-Lingual English / Spanish a plus.
