What You’ll Do :

• Design & Implementation : Design, implement, and launch scalable POS retail solutions with a strong focus on operational excellence.
• Lead Initiatives : Manage projects from requirements analysis and design to post-launch support, delivering value to both store associates and shoppers.
• Innovation & Problem Solving : Navigate ambiguity to develop innovative solutions that work at scale for the client, ensuring seamless integration with POS systems.
• Device Integration : Collaborate with device API(s) and vendors to integrate devices into POS solutions, maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
• Post-Launch Support : Provide ongoing support to ensure the continued success and optimization of POS systems.

What You’ll Bring :

• Experience : Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Java.
• Solution Design : Proven ability to design scalable solutions involving multiple stakeholders.
• Coding Excellence : Excellent coding skills with a focus on writing high-quality, tech debt-free code, particularly in Java.
• Device Integration Expertise : Familiarity with device integration, including knowledge of device drivers and firmware upgrades (preferred but not required).
• Innovation at Scale : Ability to navigate ambiguity and innovate solutions that can be implemented at scale.
• Root Cause Analysis : Strong track record of identifying and solving issues at their root through automation and self-service.
• Ownership & Independence : Ability to work independently, taking end-to-end ownership of projects with minimal guidance.
• Operational Excellence : Expertise in maintaining a high standard of operational excellence from design through implementation to post-launch support.

Technology experience :

• Java 11 (Preferred)
• Spring Boot Microservices
• Cloud Architecture Patterns and Implementation Experience
• Apache Kafka Pipeline Implementation Experience (or similar event-driven pipeline)
• Distributed database principles and design
• Experience with relational database design, troubleshooting database issues, performance tuning
• Experience with Cloud store (Azure Cosmos / Cassandra preferred)
