Translational Research Scientist, Translational Medicine - Oncology
Position :
The Translational Medicine department strives to transform patient care through borderless, innovative, and rigorous translational science that will catalyze the development of new medicines, accelerate drug development timelines, and discover new therapeutic strategies.
To fulfill our vision, we recruit talented and highly motivated scientists to develop and execute innovative biomarker and diagnostic strategies to drive clinical development through all phases of the portfolio, and conduct foundational disease-oriented translational research to maximize our scientific and clinical impact.
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and independent contract Scientist 3 to lead and perform lab-based translational research and discovery efforts in the group.
Role and Responsibilities :
- This is a hands-on, lab-based position in which you will design, perform, and analyze in vitro and ex vivo experiments to validate biological and therapeutic hypotheses derived from clinical biomarker data, real-world data, and other sources.
- Elucidate mechanisms of action and resistance to enable in-depth understanding of fundamental disease biology, as well as experimentally validate novel therapeutic targets.
- Inform pharmacodynamic biomarker strategies for immunotherapies, tumor-targeted therapies, and combination therapies.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to synthesize, integrate, and interpret experimental and computational findings to inform decision-making on key projects and programs.
Education :
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or related disciplines.
- Alternatively, you hold a BS or MS degree in similar fields and a track record of scientific excellence and productivity.
Required Skills :
Deep understanding of cancer immunology, oncogenic signaling pathways (RAS, PI3K), and translational drug development, as evidenced by first-author publications, patents, and past success in R&D.
Experience in NSCLC, SCLC, or CRC disease biology would be advantageous.
- Expertise in independently leading lab-based research projects involving a wide repertoire of experimental techniques such as conventional / spectral flow cytometry, biochemistry, cell / molecular biology, and immune function assays.
- Independent and proactive, with efficient time management and the ability to simultaneously progress multiple projects or experiments in parallel.
- A thoughtful and meticulous approach to experimental design, execution, and documentation, bringing scientific rigor and creativity to problem solving.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and adaptable, with excellent written / oral communication skills.
- A passion for scientific research and drug development.
Preferred Skills :
- Familiarity with in vivo pharmacology, single cell workflows, and spatial omics would be helpful.
- Experience developing and validating clinical biomarker assays and strategies would also be advantageous.
