RESPONSIBILITIES / REQUIREMENTS :
- Admission to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
- A minimum of three (5) years of litigation experience.
- Previous experience preparing and responding to (1) initial pleadings, (2) motions to dismiss, (3) written fact discovery demands, including requests for production, interrogatories, and requests for admission, (4) written expert discovery demands, including requests for production, interrogatories, and expert witness disclosures, and (5) discovery-related motions and meet-and-confer correspondence.
- The ideal candidate will also have experience with preparing and responding to Daubert and / or Frye motions, and motions for summary judgment.
- Experience with trial-related court filings (i.e., motions in limine, requests to charge, verdict sheets, etc.) is a plus.
- Deposition experience is preferred with the ideal candidate having independently taken and defended some depositions.
- Courtroom experience is preferred with the ideal candidate having independently presented oral argument in motion practice.
- Stellar written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and handle a robust caseload.
- Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in New York also a big plus.
- Experience in litigations involving businesses, real property, contract disputes and other general civil and commercial litigation.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently with limited oversight and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
- Proven ability to creatively accomplish organization goals while assessing and managing legal risk.
- Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to gracefully communicate difficult messages.
- Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
