Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role;
the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

The Enterprise Talent Management (ETM) organization partners with business leaders and human resources business partners to execute talent management best practices to ensure a pipeline of top talent for succession to key roles.
As the Director, Operations for Enterprise Talent Management, you will drive the enablement and evolution of our enterprise talent practices through process consistency, technology, and a strong measurement strategy.
In this role you will support the advancement of our core enterprise "talent practices" of career and leadership development, performance management, talent calibration, succession management, and talent planning.
This role works closely with Enterprise Talent Management Practice Leads and the VPs of Enterprise Talent Management to drive operational excellence in the following areas : measurement and reporting strategy, project management, operational excellence, technology and best practices.
What Will You Do?
- Support the development and lead the implementation of operational excellence across all ETM talent practice areas, including developing a measurement strategy and dashboard to track ETM’s impact to advance the technology ecosystem in support of enterprise talent solutions.
- Develop and maintain an Enterprise Talent Management measurement strategy, dashboard, and quarterly reporting cadence to key stakeholders to demonstrate the effectiveness and impact of ETM’s talent practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage ETM’s relationship with People Analytics and HR Operations to gain their support and insights for our measurement and reporting strategy, and to maintain alignment with the overall HR measurement strategy.
- Stay abreast of emerging talent management technologies and software and explore opportunities to integrate new technology, software and AI solutions and advanced analytics into our talent practices and measurement strategy.
- Work with highly confidential human resources data in accordance with Travelers’ data policies and procedures.
- Establish, share, and drive consistent project management methodologies, along with standard templates, tools, and resources to improve efficiency and collaboration across ETM.
- Manage ETM’s relationship with our HR Operations team in identifying repeatable and scalable aspects of ETM’s work to transition for implementation and ongoing execution and maintenance.
Document detailed process flows, functional requirements, and specifications for work to be supported by HR Operations.
- Manage ETM’s relationships with the HR Technology and Enterprise Learning Enablement teams to drive operational excellence and to continue to advance talent practices through leveraging Workday, Degreed and other technology.
- Utilize external market insights to identify trends and best practices in technology, reporting and analytics and operational excellence to inform our talent practices and their delivery, and share regularly with ETM and others in HR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field.
- Technological mindset with the ability to assess and use state-of-the-art technologies supporting talent and learning practices, and survey and metrics collection, analyses and reporting.
- Experience leveraging Workday, Degreed, Novo Ed, Perceptyx and / or other talent, learning, and survey tools.
- Experience capturing metrics and creating reports that drive insights and decision-making.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional skills and experience with project management, program design / management, and change management, including managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously and following through to ensure excellence in execution.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Office, PowerPoint, and Excel including building decks, pivot tables, presentations and exhibits and building complex spreadsheets to track and analyze data.
- Experience working in a highly matrixed environment, with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and influence decisions across all levels of the organization.
