Job Description Summary

The Director of Career Services will lead the development of a comprehensive career program. Working collaboratively with members of the GSE community and central Career Services, this position will focus on career education, counseling, networking and data management.

Job Description

  • Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive career services program that compliments the offerings of the University’s Career Services.
  • Work collaboratively with GSE faculty, program managers, staff and student organizations to understand the needs of students entering into, or transitioning within, the workforce.

Partner with Career Services to maximize the impact of GSE's program.

  • Provide career education and counseling to GSE students and alumni through workshops, panels, virtual outlets, and individual meetings.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, develop partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and industry, and participate in national professional development organizations.
  • Produce and analyze post-graduation employment data. Ensure timely data collection and analysis to drive future planning and strategic initiatives.

Maintain career data on GSE's website.

  • Administer pre- and post-matriculation self-assessment surveys to understand student interests and aspirations as they enter into or transition within the workforce.
  • Provide networking and mentorship opportunities between current students and GSE alumni.
  • Collaborate with the Student Success team on School-wide events and initiatives, such as graduation and orientation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience advising students.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team and collaborate on initiatives.

Expected salary range : $85,000 - $90,000

Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
