Techstra is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler. As a proficient modeler, you will lead data analysis efforts and perform data analysis tasks across various projects with a wide range of scope, intricate business needs, and technical requirements within a tightly coordinated multi-platform data environment.

This role focuses on analysis and design, involving the creation and refinement of data solutions and models, which will subsequently be provided to developers, engineers, and DBAs for implementation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality by implementing data validation and cleansing processes
• Identify and resolve data-related issues and errors, ensuring data integrity and availability
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, database schemas, and data flow processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand and address data requirements
• Develop and maintain data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, to meet business requirements
• Design and optimize data structures, tables, and schemas
• Transform raw data into meaningful insights by creating views, stored procedures, and other data transformation mechanisms
• Experience with cloud native data warehousing and data lake solutions

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) with a focus on data analysis, data structures, or data modeling
• 7+ years experience in Utility domain knowledge required (outage, geodata, meters, etc)
• Experience with Erwin Data Intelligence, ERStudio or similar modeling tools, and required experience with Data Sourced from OMS, ADMS and CC&B desired
• Hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling
• Experienced in design of Conceptual, Logical and Physical models to represent business concepts
• Proficient in 3NF, Star Schema, Dimensional and Data Vault modeling techniques
• In-depth knowledge of data warehousing, an understanding of database structures, design, theories and SCD (slowly changing dimensions) principles
• Experience working with cloud-based environments (Azure) Storage and Database services
• Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Prepare the Standard Operating Procedures with DB modelling
• Strong SQL writing
• Experience working with complex and potentially un-structured data sets JSON, XML, Parquet
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
