The Industrial Engineer's goal is to create or improve upon products, systems and designs to make them safer and more efficient.
Industrial engineers will examine manufacturing processes to identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, streamline production times, and minimize the use of resources while ensuring compliance with safety policies.
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing methods will be a key skill for this role.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education : BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing or mechanical engineering required
- Experience : 2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
- Travel : 10 / 25%
- Work Schedule : This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitors operations with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency.
- Designs efficient production processes and workflows.
- Ensures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards.
- Reduces waste and addresses production issues.
- Reviews production schedules, processes and specifications.
- Evaluates data to implement technological improvements in production processes.
- Implements controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues.
- Works with other departments to develop design and production standards.
- Prepares inventory analysis and procurement purchase orders to address production needs.
- Designs facility layout and personnel requirements in relation to production operations.
- Helps to develop instruction manuals, process documentation for production personnel.
- Ensures that work processes are safe and addresses safety issues and concerns.
- Generates process reports.
- Actively participates in Faith's hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
