Job Description

Changing Healthcare For Good

At Angle Health, we believe the healthcare system should be accessible, transparent, and easy to navigate. As a digital-first, data-driven health plan, we are replacing legacy systems with modern infrastructure to deliver our members the care they need when they need it.

If you want to build the future of healthcare, we'd love for you to join us.

The Role

Angle Health's in-house legal and regulatory team works to proactively address legal issues, manage regulatory compliance, and provide sound counsel so that Angle Health can continue to move forward quickly in our mission to reinvent access to healthcare.

As a Senior Corporate Counsel at Angle Health, you will be responsible for a number of critical legal and regulatory initiatives, ranging from drafting and negotiating contracts, supporting corporate governance initiatives, overseeing contract and legal operations processes, to advising on policies, procedures and compliance issues, as well as assisting in risk management.

As a savvy corporate generalist, you will work with key partners across the business and will be a trusted legal advisor to solve the many complex issues that surface in building innovative solutions in an antiquated industry.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about healthcare and start-ups and possesses stellar communication, project management, and interpersonal skills.

If you're a creative thinker that loves solving difficult problems and navigating uncharted legal and regulatory terrain, this is the role for you.

Core Responsibilities

Research : Assess changes to laws, regulations and public policy matters, especially those related to healthcare and health insurance, and advise the team on how such matters and developments may influence business strategies and product development

Consult : Work cross functionally with Sales, Product and Client Success teams and provide timely and critical guidance to support critical operations

Cooperate : Cultivate trusted relationships with cross functional partners and be a team player able and willing to tackle any task to ensure project success

Build : Build processes for the legal function, including through the creation and maintenance of playbooks, contract templates, and self-help workflows

Flexible : Be able and willing to learn anything and tackle any type of legal matter from patents / trademarks to commercial litigation

What We Value

4 to 6 years experience at a major law firm or in-house at a scaling start-up, with a strong preference for demonstrable career focus on technology / healthcare startups

Must have experience with ERISA and / or employee health insurance benefits

Excited about working in a startup environment and taking on outsized responsibility at an early-stage company

Ability to operate autonomously with minimal supervision in fast-changing environments and adapt to changing risk tolerances and operational constraints

Intellectual curiosity surface level answers don't do it for you. You dive into the details because you're not satisfied until you get to the root cause or attain a fundamental understanding of whatever it is you're working on

Growth mindset with a willingness to not only learn, but also teach, lead, and follow

Stellar communication and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail

The salary range for this job opportunity is $150,000 to $230,000 per year, which is the amount Angle Health anticipates paying for this position at the time of this job posting.

The actual base salary offered may differ and will depend on various factors such as geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience, as well as internal equity.

Because We Value You :

  • Competitive compensation and stock options
  • 100% company-paid comprehensive health, vision & dental insurance for you and your dependents
  • Supplemental Life, AD&D and Short-Term Disability coverage options
  • Discretionary time off
  • Opportunity for rapid career progression
  • Relocation assistance (if relocation is required)
  • 3 months of paid parental leave and flexible return to work policy (after 10 months of employment)
  • Work-from-home stipend for remote employees
  • Company provided lunch for in-office employees
  • 401(k) account
  • Other benefits are coming soon!

Backed by a team of world class investors, we are a healthcare startup on a mission to make our health system more effective, accessible, and affordable to everyone.

From running large hospitals and health plans to serving on federal healthcare advisory boards to solving the world's hardest problems at Palantir, our team has done it all.

As part of this core group at Angle Health, you will have the right balance of support and autonomy to grow both personally and professionally and the opportunity to own large parts of the business and scale with the company.
