Qualifications :
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology : Obtained from an accredited program, meeting Alaskas educational requirements.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) : Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Alaska State Licensure : Must hold a current Alaska licensure or be eligible for licensure to practice as a speech-language pathologist in the state.
- Alaska Type C Special Services Certificate : Required to work in Alaska schools, this certification is specific to special services providers, including SLPs.
- Experience : Two (2) years of experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills : Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and administrators.
