Construction Surveyor - Hampton Roads

Major Role and Purpose

Reporting to the Construction Survey Manager, the Construction Surveyor is responsible for all aspects of survey and layout for all construction projects (Paving, Grading & Utilities) to be completed safely, on schedule and within budget to the satisfaction of the client.

Job Description :

  • Always represent Branscome in a professional manner.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
  • Provide survey grade field layout for multiple construction features concerning grading and utilities.
  • Provide field engineering assistance in conjunction with internal & external management to gather or alter construction needs.

Coordinate with internal Branscome managers and work with them to complete project stakeout.

  • Gather field data for engineering purposes and / or internal use concerning verifications, quantities, etc.
  • Support machine control operations from setup to functionality.
  • Coordination between regions and team members. Assist within the company's overall regions as needed.
  • Continue to educate your direct reports with new technology and new ways of doing things.
  • Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

Education :

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience / Qualifications :

  • Previous experience with civil surveying.
  • Must have Auto Cad experience.
  • Must have GPS and UTS experience.
  • Must be able to perform stakeout needs in the field.
  • Must be able to work with 3D models.
  • Must have GPS and UTS Machine control experience.
  • Trimble software experience preferred.
  • A land surveyor license a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.

Physical Demands :

  • Job requires the following motions : driving, standing, sitting, squatting, reaching, pulling / pushing, and lifting.
  • Required to drive.
