The Department of Physics at High Point University invites applications for a one-year visiting full-time, non-tenure track position in Physics at the Assistant Professor rank beginning August 2024.
The position will span fall 2024 and spring 2025 (9 months). Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate introductory algebra-based physics courses and potentially general education courses for non-majors.
The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with faculty on curriculum and program development, contribute to the school and wider university through service, and participate in scholarly research involving undergraduate students.
The B.S. Physics program at High Point University values engaging and effective teaching, the integration of computation, experiment, and theory across the curriculum, and undergraduate research ().
The program seeks a dynamic individual who will embrace these values and is passionate about mentoring undergraduates. Successful applicants will have access to laboratory and office space in the Wanek School of Natural Sciences.
A Ph.D. in physics or closely related field is required; postdoctoral or recent teaching experience is preferred.
