As part of the 401 Program, you will contribute to the preservation of California’s water quality by regulating dredge or fill activities that result in an impact to waters through the disturbance of streambeds, lakes, wetlands, or coastal seafloor.
As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and managing dredge or fill permits for various types of activities.
In particular, you will act as a liaison to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for their dredge or fill projects.

Candidates must possess essential personal qualifications including integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, the ability to work cooperatively with others, and the ability to perform the assigned duties of the class.

Salary information CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, 599.673) of a classification.
For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education / experience.
