About the Role :
ExtraYear is an early-stage startup in stealth mode, focused on using AI to help people. We’re looking for passionate and versatile software engineers with 2-4 years of professional experience to join our small, dynamic team.
As one of the first engineering hires, you’ll play a key role in helping us build our initial prototype and take it to production.
This means working across the entire technology stack, from front-end to back-end services, integrations, and data storage.
Responsibilities :
- Design and build web applications leveraging TypeScript and Next.js (hybrid mobile apps in the future).
- Develop and maintain backend services in TypeScript on Node.js.
- Integrate third-party services, including large language models (LLMs), voice technologies, and traditional systems.
- Work with relational databases for online transaction processing and contribute to building a data lake to drive research and customer insights.
- Ensure seamless cloud integration, deployment, and scaling of services.
- Collaborate closely with other team members in a fast-paced, hands-on environment to deliver secure, quality, and scalable solutions.
Qualifications :
- 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficient in front-end and back-end development (full stack).
- Experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Experience with event-driven paradigms and streaming data techniques.
- Experience with relational databases (SQL).
- Familiarity with cloud-hosted applications and deployment.
- Knowledge of AI and LLMs is a strong plus.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to all parts of the product life cycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
