Job Summary

This position is responsible for complex maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment within the Distribution Center.

Electrical Responsibilities include machinery, Conveyor systems, Lighting both inside and outside, plumbing electrical connections, HVAC motors and VFDs, Electrical Infrastructure up to 480v nominal, and some Fire protection equipment.

Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing industrial control systems using root-cause problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Install, maintain, control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders.

Repair power distribution system's branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods as needed. These actions are to be recorded regularly with the company's Maintenance management system.

We are currently using Limble for this purpose. Utilize knowledge of electrical standards according to the NEC, NFPA 70E / 79, UL, OSHA, etc.

The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

Occasionally present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • This position is responsible for general maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment within the Distribution Center
  • The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
  • Operate manual battery pullers at elevated heights inside of battery rack locations
  • Perform preventive maintenance to battery pullers, batteries, wash cabinets, and battery racks
  • Perform inspection on regulatory components of the distribution center
  • This position may have supervisory responsibilities of an electrical helper
  • Determine and develop approach to solutions
  • Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met
  • Work with contacts whom are primarily within the department or function with occasional cross-functional interfaces
  • Some limited external vendor contact on routine matters
  • You will be responsible for the full spectrum of routine maintenance including troubleshooting electrical controls, and ensuring proper functionality of all systems
  • Applying safe working procedure within electrical cabinets, panels, and Motor control centers in compliance with the NFPA
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, and reports any unsafe working conditions or equipment
  • Maintain and repair conveyor system's electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance of systems based on machine PM description outlined in Companies maintenance management portal
  • Maintains an accurate record of all PM activities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, and transformers
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot, control components such as photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders
  • PLC hardware : troubleshoot, CPU's, backplanes, I / O modules, and Ethernet communication devices
  • Perform PLC based troubleshooting with read only access to determine the cause of equipment shutdowns when the cause is not readily visible
  • Assist IT department with upgrades to equipment or installation of raceways needed for changes in the communication / data scheme within the plant
  • Perform upkeep of facilities Radio, Satellite TV, and Intercom equipment
  • Ensuring all electrical and controls documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Updates panel schedules and identification of field devices when adjustments are made
  • Review and perform upgrades and improvements to electrical infrastructure
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the distribution operations to determine the causes of equipment / operational issues
  • Resolve quality and / or productivity issues
  • Identify and implement solutions to solve operational problems on equipment in support of Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Providing detailed technical training to the personnel when requested to do so by management
  • Document and update repair procedures or troubleshooting steps to equipment as needed

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Journeyman or Master Level Electrician
  • To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • 7 years of experience in Distribution / Industrial Plant Maintenance, facility maintenance or Construction Field required.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and / or Registrations
  • Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, general business periodicals, operating and maintenance instructions / procedure manuals
  • Can speak effectively to employees to give and receive pertinent information
  • Able to type, prepare, copy, file, and keep records
  • Computer Skills : Microsoft office, Excel, Outlook
  • Mathematical Skills : knowledge for the electrical trade mathematics demonstrated
  • Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw, and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
