The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Associate Athletic Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services.
This is a career, full-time position with a targeted salary range of - with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan.
The Associate Athletic Director of Compliance and Student-Athlete Services reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Governance and Sport Administration.
- Primary responsibilities include oversight of day to day compliance operations monitoring compliance with NCAA, BIG10 and UCLA rules and regulations;
- supervision of 7 compliance and student-athlete services staff (FTE) administrators; researching NCAA rules, case precedent and interpretations;
drafting waivers, violation reports and NCAA submissions; providing rules education. The position has functional responsibility for developing, organizing, and setting the strategic vision for the Compliance program and will ensure the department and all of its 25 athletic programs are in compliance with all department, university, conference, state, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Various areas include department education, monitoring, investigations and other areas within the program that strengthen and enhance the athletic compliance effort and other duties as assigned.

- All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities and requirements : Bachelor’s Degree required; JD Preferred; Candidates should have experience conducting research, possess superior critical thinking skills, and demonstrate strong organizational abilities;
- 5-10 years of experience working with NCAA Compliance at Division I intercollegiate athletics level preferred; Experience working with Teamworks, JumpForward and Compliance Assistant preferred;
- Excellent candidates will demonstrate an eagerness to learn on the job and work hard to excel in the position; Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred;
- Working knowledge of sports and athletes, specifically, UCLA sports, will provide value; Ability to perform duties with a great degree of accuracy, meet deadlines, work effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions and fluctuating workload;
- Analytical skill to evaluate information, identify and resolve problems; Ability to work effectively in teams and independently required;
- Ability to attend competitions and events at night and on weekends, as necessary, required; Strong verbal and written communication skills required;
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coaches, students, other staff members and campus administrators.
