Senior Product Marketing Manager, Platform & Data

About Rippling

Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers.

For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365 all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.2B from the world’s top investors including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @Rippling.com addresses.

About the role

Scaling to $1B ARR and beyond means we need to build a go-to-market engine that drives growth across dozens of product SKUs, sales segments, buyer personas, and countries.

By building a platform centered around the Employee Graph, Rippling is changing how businesses operate. From recruiting to retirement, the employee lifecycle is full of talent-related milestones.

By leveraging a singular source of truth for employee data, Rippling is able to focus on the entire talent lifecycle while automating away the endless stream of administrative work that can come with recruiting, review cycles, and more, so your employees can focus on getting their jobs done rather than the administrative tasks that have been taken for granted as necessarily evils of the employee journey.

As a Senior Product Marketing Manager, you’ll orchestrate the go-to-market for Rippling’s Platform & Data products. The Rippling Platform sits at the core of the entire system, enabling a unified set of platform capabilities : analytics, automation, permissions, policies, and integrations.

Plus, Rippling is expanding its third-party data capabilities, uniting the formerly-disparate worlds of people data and business data.

You will gather and analyze market intelligence to ensure we build the right products and tell the right stories, so our sales team can win.

You will spend countless hours living in the product, experiencing for yourself what it’s like to be an administrator, executive, or leader that leverages Rippling’s unified data architecture and business platform.

This role is highly cross-functional. You will work closely with Rippling’s Product organization, our Sales teams, and the rest of our Marketing machine.

We’d love to talk to you if you have a strong GM mindset, obsess about customers, and exhibit sharp product instincts.

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end GTM strategy, execution, and performance of your product lines.
  • Conduct deep customer research and synthesize insights about our products, target audiences, and personas.
  • Partner closely with the Product organization to define the product roadmap.
  • Create an always-on feedback loop between sales, product, and marketing, to ensure we react quickly to on the ground developments.
  • Own the messaging & positioning for all of the products within your vertical, as well as all of the personas and buyers within our ICP.
  • Quarterback the creation of sales pitch decks, collateral, and any other materials that can help us win.
  • Manage your products like a GM with a focus on how to improve metrics like awareness, attach rate, adoption, and customer retention.
  • Educate our sales teams on products and create sales tools / collateral to help them win.
  • Be the in-house expert (buyers, influencers, competitors, industry, etc.) on your Rippling products.
  • Be a spokesperson, evangelist, and thought leader with analysts, customers, and partners.

What you will need

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing or technical product marketing.
  • Self-starter with a bias towards action who is able to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to translate customer and market insights into crisp GTM fundamentals, including segmentation, buyer personas, messaging, competitive positioning, pricing recommendations, and more.
  • Superb cross-functional collaboration and project management skills. From Day 1, you’ll need to align stakeholders across multiple teams many of which may have competing priorities.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. While we won’t expect you to fine-tune marketing copy, you need to be able to clearly tell a story without resorting to corporate jargon.
  • You sweat the details - small and big, alike.
  • A creative spark. While analytical chops are critical to your success, we also pride ourselves on being able to think outside the box.
