The Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing multiple projects, which
may vary in scope. This role reports into the HR PMO and partners with HR leaders and cross-
functional Project Team members to develop plans and manage detailed timelines in accordance
with project objectives. The Senior Project Manager may coach and / or mentor more junior Project Managers and leads.
Key Responsibilities
Manage multiple projects at one time, prepare and lead project meetings, including
agendas and any post meeting notes / follow up and report metrics as defined by the PMO.
- Drive large and complex cross-functional enterprise-wide projects.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans that consist of desired outcomes, scope, timeline, milestones, tasks, communication strategies, and deliverable schedules.
- Proactively identify and document risks and corresponding mitigation plans
- Take on role of project leader, driving progress, elevating roadblocks, resolving
opportunities, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
- Act as SME for any questions or opportunities during project development, pilot, or implementation.
- Align team on hypotheses, key qualitative and quantitative metrics, and ROI model parameters.
- Contribute best practices of project management to support the evolution of the PMO team
- Coach and mentor less experienced project managers; Review project plans of less
experienced project managers to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Preferred Requirements :
The Senior Project Manager role requires advanced knowledge of project management tools and behaviors obtained thorough education and / or work experience
- Bachelor's degree, with a preference for project management and human resources
- PMP certification; Change Management certification or experience a plus
- 7 - 10 years of work experience in HR and project management required
- Capable of managing own workload with minimal supervision, drawing on
practice / precedent and strong project management skills, and knowing when to leverage resources
- Proficient communication skills to convey complex ideas and information clearly and precisely (both verbal and written), to a varied audience, executive stakeholders and enterprise leadership
- Possess skills to influence others to take action or adopt different points of view
- Proficient at building and maintaining strong, cross-functional relationships across all levels of the HR department and throughout the organization
- Proven ability to develop and execute plans against overall project goals, identifying key issues and risks for project team and senior-level review
- Strong time management skills to juggle competing priorities and deliver against aggressive timelines
