Overview VTG is seeking a Ground Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services at Springfield, VA.
He / she will work multiple ground system projects and tasks from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.
to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, etc.). What will you do? Responsibilities : · Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE&I) activities across the site.
- Work with SE&I teams to follow site system engineering process; oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate mission growth.
- Interface with System Program Offices (SPO) to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture, ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes.
- Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures; review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. CONOPS, requirements;
issues and risks, etc.). · Represent government’s interests at various forums; provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers.
- Coordinate with key project managers on a routine basis to evaluate contractor performance. Do you have what it takes?
- Required : · Must be a US Citizen. · Active TS / SCI with polygraph. · Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)* and nine (9) years or more experience;
or master’s in STEM field and seven (7) years or more experience. *contract requirement · Technical knowledge of ground communications and mission data processing systems, familiar with space vehicle mission planning and command and control systems.
- Full system engineering life cycle experience. · Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs throughout system development lifecycle.
- Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics.
- Polished communicator (written / verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment. · Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders consensus builder.
- Desired : · Real-time operations experience as a GEOINT spacecraft operator, spacecraft engineer, or ground systems operator;
familiar with space operations and policies. · Familiar with Digital Engineering / Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile development, cloud technologies, government technical standards.
- Project management experience with delivered systems.
