Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
Inspection & Diagnosis : Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts, skid steers, loaders, and cranes, to identify mechanical issues.
Repairs & Maintenance : Perform repairs and routine maintenance on equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
Preventive Maintenance : Implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
Parts & Tools Management : Order and maintain necessary parts, tools, and supplies to ensure timely repairs and maintenance.
Documentation : Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance work, and parts used. Complete service reports and ensure accurate documentation.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while working on equipment. Follow company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Collaboration : Work closely with other mechanics, operators, and supervisors to resolve equipment issues and support overall team objectives.
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational training program in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a heavy equipment mechanic or in a similar role.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Experience with various types of heavy equipment.
Certifications : Relevant certifications (, ASE, OEM-specific certifications) are a plus.
Physical Requirements : Ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
