Environmental Health & Safety Manager, Clean Room

Redmond, WA Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead EHS efforts across multiple research and development cleanroom facilities.

This role will implement safe work practices and environmental controls across R&D fabrication laboratories supporting the development of consumer electronic hardware.

This role will provide input on critical safety, health and environmental components in equipment, room and process design.

The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of chemical hazards, process safety and environmental controls in a fast-paced R&D laboratory environment.

This role will interface with teams from research, hardware and engineering to ensure safe design and operations of our clean rooms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe operations and design of our clean rooms across multiple sites through collaboration with lab management, facilities, contractors and engineers
• Analyze safety and environmental hazards to identify and implement risk reduction solutions
• Manage site compliance with all local, state and federal regulations through compliance assurance assessments, performing or reviewing risk assessments and leading incident investigations
• Develop equipment and facility requirements for design for safety and safe work practices
• Evaluate proposed changes to operating procedures, partnering with engineers, lab management and facilities
• Assess new technology and process changes with key cross-functional partners for adequate site infrastructure and operational readiness, including operational controls and permits
• Manage team of contract or vendor workers

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. Degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Health Physics
• 7+ years experience in EHS field, with 5+ years experience managing EHS operations in cleanroom laboratory or semi-conductor environment
• Experience in process safety and design in safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading safety investigations, during development process or failure analysis
• Experience communicating with all levels of organization
• Experience in emergency spill response
