Vice President of Government Affairs
Position Summary :
The will represent Progress Residential("Progress) by advocating before state, local and federal government officials on policies relevant to Progress Residential, its affiliates, Owners and Property Managers in the Single-Family Rental ("SFR") industry.
And allow appropriate flexibility to serve their clients and customers. Core responsibilities include influencing key decision-makers and stakeholders, building relationships, and effectively communicating Progress’ and / or the industry’s viewpoints before state, local and federal government.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory proposals affecting Progress and / or the SFR industry.
Assess the potential impact of proposed policies on the SFR industry and its customers.
Develop comprehensive strategies and positions on relevant issues.
Collaborate with internal staff and consultants.
Establish and maintain relationships with legislators, policymakers, and government officials.
Educate and persuade key decision-makers about the SFR industry's interests, concerns, and contributions to the economy.
Influence the development and modification of laws and regulations that affect Progress and / or the SFR industry.
Advocate for policies that promote fair competition, economic growth, and financial stability.
Cultivate strong relationships with industry leaders, member companies, and advocacy groups.
Collaborate with other lobbyists and stakeholders to form alliances and coalitions in support of shared goals.
Represent the Progress in industry in meetings, conferences, and public forums.
Prepare senior leadership for meetings with executive leaders within government agencies.
Qualifications :
Advanced degree in political science, public policy, economics, or a related field (Juris Doctor degree preferred).
Proven experience in government, as a government relations professional, or similar role in the financial industry. Capitol Hill experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of single -family rental industry, operations, and regulatory frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of legislative processes, government structures, and political landscapes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to analyze complex issues, develop effective strategies, and articulate arguments persuasively.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong ethical standards and a commitment to compliance with lobbying regulations and guidelines.
