Description :
The Director of Warehouse Operations, eCommerce is a pivotal leadership role driving the growth of Goodwill’s eCommerce business.
This position drives a team of 70+ people in the art of evaluation, manifesting, photographing, listing, inventory and shipping second hand products along with team development, and strategic initiatives to maximize revenue.
This role sets expectations, trains associates and holds to accountable to standards and systems. As the digital arm of the agency, this role pushes team members to use learn and use technology as a tool to conduct business.
The Director collaborates extensively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational excellence and foster a culture of innovation and accountability.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development :
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing eCommerce team across multiple sites (San Francisco, and Remote Store Specialists).
- Foster a positive work culture emphasizing motivation, recognition, coaching, and performance management.
Revenue Generation and Business Growth :
- Drive topline revenue for the agency to meet and exceed budgets.
- Drive eCommerce revenue growth through strategic planning and execution, sales optimization, and marketplace management.
- Analyze business performance using BI tools, KPIs, and other metrics to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and other departments to enhance online marketing and promotions.
- Optimize product pricing and inventory management to maximize resale value.
- Ensure a team focused on customer satisfaction both internal and external
Operational Excellence :
- Oversee daily eCommerce operations, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Manage process improvement and process change in a constantly growing, changing and adapting marketplace.
- Maintain strong partnerships with retail stores, donations and 3rd party vendors to support eCommerce initiatives.
Financial Management and Reporting :
- Manage eCommerce budgets, track financial performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to inform decision-making.
Strategy and Innovation :
- Develop and implement eCommerce strategies to drive topline revenue and meet mission goals as well
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and technological advancements and manage execution, change and acceptance.
- Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
Requirements :
- Minimum 2 years of warehouse operations and team management required.
- Minimum of 4 years of warehouse operations or sales experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in retail, eCommerce, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in secondhand marketplaces, preferably with Goodwill or a similar organization.
- Proven ability to drive eCommerce growth and profitability.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in eCommerce platforms, SAS applications, and CRM solutions.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills.
