As an Intern, you will become involved with many aspects of the accounting services practice and will gain solid, hands-on experience.
You will receive guidance and on-the-job training from accounting services staff to assist with the detailed verification procedures necessary to perform examinations of clients’ financial statements.
You will be assigned client work and will be involved in various projects, primarily working on compilations, cash basis conversions, and financial statement reviews.
The position requires strong quantitative, analytical and technology capabilities. You must exhibit initiative and a strong desire to learn.
At a minimum, applicants are required to have at least an accounting major GPA of 3.0 as an upper classman and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
A desire for a career in a mid-tier public accounting firm is required, as well as focus on achieving your CPA license in the future.
Applicants available for full-time work (including 1 weekend day) in our Deerfield office are preferred, but part time is available for the right candidate.
Winter / Spring busy season internships will start in mid-January and end the end of April. You may be asked to go to clients’ sites as well.
The goal of the internship is to provide you a clear understanding of most areas of the accounting services department. Your internship will accelerate your career development post-graduation and enhance your career success.
Interns are allowed and encouraged to attend any subject matter training being offered during their internship. Marcum LLP offers 150+ courses per year, in house.
