Jersey Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07206Job Summary : Mental Health workers provide care to individuals with mental or emotional conditions or disabilities under the direction of nurses and physicians.

They closely monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being and report to medical staff.Qualifications : Required : Minimum 2 years experience as an RN in an acute care behavioral health settingPrevious experience in psychology or sociology desirableGraduate from an accredited school or universityStrong communication and organizational skillsProficient computer skillsPreferred : Previous experience in working with psychiatric and / or substance-abuse patientsPsychiatric-Mental Health () certifications and / or national nursing certificationsCertifications and Licenses Required : Active Registered Nurse License in the state of New JerseyBLS from the American Heart Association upon hireScheduling Requirements : Part-TimeNight Shift24 standard weekly hoursEssential Functions : Monitoring vital signs such as heart rate and blood pressurePerform EKGsDraw labs and collect specimens from patientsAssist patients in their daily activities such as : eating, dressing, and bathingProvide therapeutic groups and recreational activities to patientsAssist in non-violent crisis interventionOther Duties : Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
