Job Description Summary

Lincoln Land Community College is hiring an experienced athletic coach as our next Director, Athletics! They will be responsible for oversight of athletics staff and all aspects of the athletic programs and facilities at LLCC. GO LOGGERS!

As a staff member at LLCC, you can look forward to 23 paid holidays a year, including 2 weeks at the end of the calendar year and one week in March for mid-semester break;

12 Fridays off in the summer; and 2 personal days, 15 sick days, and 20 vacation days per year. LLCC staff, their spouse, and qualified dependent children are eligible to use the tuition waiver on credited courses.

Starting salary is likely to be between $68,497 and $90,869 per year with an excellent benefits package. The person hired into this position will be placed within this range based on education, training, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Three years leadership and / or supervisory experience
  • Two years in a competitive athletic or similar environment

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading an athletic program
  • Experience in NCAA or NJCAA compliance management
  • Coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level
  • Direct supervision of a coaching staff

Job Duties

  • Encourage academic excellence in student / athletes while maintaining accurate records in the certification of eligibility process.
  • Supervise all staff involved or supporting intercollegiate athletics ensuring adherence to the policies of Lincoln Land Community College and of the National Junior College Athletic Association.
  • Coordinate the development of schedules for all athletic events and use of the athletic facilities.
  • Systematically monitor facilities and athletic fields, making recommendations for life / safety improvements.
  • Serve as liaison to the National Junior College Athletic Association sharing guidelines and materials with appropriate LLCC personnel.
  • Operationalize, monitor and evaluate summer sports camps.
  • Provide oversight and control of the athletic budget.
  • Attend and supervise all home athletic events.
  • Assist in the college planning and assessment program by developing annual work unit objectives that impact long-range priority goals.
  • Oversee and develop with coaching staff, fund-raising activities for all sports to ensure equity with regard to Title IX.
  • Serve as College’s representative to submit claims, etc. for athletic insurance program.
  • Provide oversight of the fitness center, equipment, and serve as liaison to the academic departments as it pertains to the Center;

delineating specific responsibilities of instructional programs vs. non-credit activities for athletes.

  • Design recruitment strategies to enhance the athletic program.
  • Submit and monitor NJCAA athletic eligibility.
