Summary

The Student Worker in the Office of the President will provide essential clerical and administrative support, assisting in the efficient operation of the President's Office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and ensure they are directed to the appropriate person or meeting.
  • Perform general office duties such as photocopying and scanning.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, taking messages as necessary.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distributing, and processing correspondence.
  • Maintain and organize office files, records, and documents, both physical and digital.
  • Maintain office supplies inventory, placing orders as needed and ensuring supplies are well-stocked.
  • Assist with data entry and updating databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Support the coordination of special projects and events as directed by the President's Office staff.
  • Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized office environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Saint Xavier University.
  • Federal Work Study required.
  • Previous clerical or administrative experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Work Schedule : Flexible hours within the Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am 4 : 00 pm schedule. Ideally 8 to 10 hours per week, with consideration for class schedules and academic and extracurricular commitments.
