The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC) is seeking a patient centered 90% (36 hours a week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work at our UICC RiverCrossing Clinic .

This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but could float to other patient specialties / clinic locations including but not limited to : Pediatrics and / or Specialty / Outreach Clinics.

For nearly 50 years, the health and wellness of our patients has been our primary focus. We see patients for pregnancy care, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute care visits, annual physicals, regular check-ups, mental health, on-site laboratory services and more.

Our team develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patient care history and deliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient.

When anyone in the family needs specialty care, our family medicine provider connects you with the UI Health Care specialist you need.

That specialist will consult the same medical record your family medicine provider has been keeping for you, so your specialty care is streamlined.

Duties to include :

  • Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
  • Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
  • In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel. In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
  • Current valid driver's license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards

Percent of Time : 90% (36 hours per week)

Schedule : Monday - Friday; Variable hours accomplished between 7 : 30 AM - 8 : 00 PM, no weekends, no holidays and no on-call time.

Location : River Crossing Clinic in Riverside, IA. (or surround clinics based on clinical need or hours)

Pay Grade : 11

Salary : $43,848.32 to $65,332.32 (at 100% time) / Hourly rate : $20.92 - $31.17 ( based on years of experience )

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit. Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support provider

Special Qualification / License :

Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.

Ability to demonstrate teamwork and autonomy in all aspects of the role

Desirable Qualifications

  • Previous EPIC experience
  • Minimum 6 months ambulatory experience

Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position
