Description :
The Tax Associate will play a key role in supporting various tax-related activities, including tax preparation, tax planning, IRS notice responses, and software initiatives.
Primary Duties :
- Perform tax preparation tasks, including gathering client information, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Develop tax plans and strategies to help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve their financial goals.
- Prepare responses to IRS notices and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of tax-related issues.
- Collaborate with managers on various tax projects, contributing insights and recommendations to enhance client outcomes.
- Champion software initiatives such as SurePrep, leveraging technology to streamline tax preparation processes and improve efficiency.
- Attend meetings to gain valuable insights and knowledge, serving as a note-taker and providing follow-up support as needed.
- Mentor and develop intern staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Serve as a liaison with regional schools to establish internship programs and recruit top talent to join our team.
Required Skills :
- Accounting / Finance Degree required
- 3-5 years of relevant experience preparing taxes for individuals and businesses required
- Tax Preparation software experience
- CPA eligible
