Position : Maintenance Mechanic

Location : Houston, TX

Job Summary : The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of routine standard servicing and repair operations to maintain hospital buildings, equipment, furnishing, fixtures, and grounds in proper condition.

This position requires a minimum of three or more years of experience in general building maintenance functions and the ability to read, write, and follow oral and / or written instructions.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform servicing and repair operations :
• Carry out urgent, corrective, routine, and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems as required.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment and physical structures as required and maintain related records.
• HVAC maintenance and repair :
• Maintain and repair HVAC controls and associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels in all environmentally controlled areas.
• Safety and compliance :
• Ensure safe care for patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
• Demonstrate a commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions.
• Adhere to time management, supply management, and productivity of service.
• Professional growth and development :
• Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory / continuing education and skills competency.
• Support department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization.
• Serve as a preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of three (3) or more years of experience in general building maintenance functions.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and / or written instructions.
