Job Title : Sr. Energy Control Systems Engineer

Job Location : California Remote

Job Duties :

• Develop real time controls solutions for microgrids and power plant controls.
• Program real time controllers, ensuring the solution is productized and consistent with product roadmap.
• Create, deploy, manage libraries and extensions which can be instantiated in software / hardware PLC platforms for multiple use cases across the Stem business verticals.
• Create a power system automation and control platform which can implement complex automation and protection solutions such as vector based island detection schemes, DER capability based load sharing schemes and 61850 based load shedding schemes.
• Deliver robust documentation, programming and testing of Real Time Controls including HIL integrated testing.
• Perform technical review of the user requirements in their requests for proposals including system designs and single line drawings for power plant and microgrid controls.
• Serve as a microgrid controls SME, providing both technical guidance and mentoring to deployment, application engineering, sales, program and product teams.
• Develop power plant control solutions such as real time non-export, load sharing, load management (shedding), generator management, breaker control schemes, synchronizing, protection based advanced islanding schemes for seamless islanding, load switching and sequencing and seamless transfer of microgrids.
• Develop specifications for tertiary control teams and UI teams for operating microgrids and power plants.
• Work with RT Controls Simulation engineer to develop models and complete HIL testing, model based development.
• May telecommute.

Job Requirements :

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 10 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.
