Construction Project Manager in Oak Forest, IL
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, preferred.
2 Years Construction Background Needed
Construction company is seeking applicants for a Project Manager position. This individual will join the existing management team to plan and execute complex construction projects in the Chicago Area.
They are a leader in Bridge Building (Steel Erection), Drilling and Overhead Sign Structures.
Responsibilities
- Coordination with General Contractors and / or Subcontractors
- Document Control (RFI’s, Submittals, Change Orders, Procedures, etc)
- Creation and implementation of Erection Procedures and work plans
- Procurement of construction materials
- Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks and documentation
- Survey and Project Layout (crane locations, laydown areas, etc.)
- Project progress reporting
- Safety management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, preferred.
- 2+ years of Experience required, additional preferred.
- Strong Leadership skills.
- Self-motivated, critical thinker that is comfortable working both in a team environment and individually with limited oversight.
- Motivated to push projects forward while maintaining a strong relationship with labor forces, contractors, and owners.
- Ability to take directions and assume responsibility for key aspects of projects.
- Effective written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact internally and with outside clients and / or customers
- Willing and eager to proactively take on various responsibilities and learn new skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing demands from multiple projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (required), AutoCAD & Scheduling Software (preferred)
