Special Education Teacher Needed In Summerville, SC
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Summerville, SC.
This position involves working with students who have a range of learning, emotional, physical, and intellectual disabilities.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students with special needs and will have the skills to provide a supportive and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials and teaching techniques to meet students individual needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Conduct assessments and track students' progress, adjusting educational plans as necessary.
- Utilize various teaching methods and strategies to engage students and enhance learning.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages student participation and independence.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid State Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
